‘Teamster Battles of the 1930s’ by Farrell Dobbs. Four-Part Audio Lecture.

A four-part, six-hour lecture by Farrell Dobbs recounting the epic Teamsters’ struggle of the 1930s given to a Socialist Workers Party event in the 1960s. Dobbs gives the history of the union, the local background, and the story of the Minneapolis General Strike of 1934. The strike transformed the Teamsters from its narrow, craft origins into a national, mass union of over-the-road drivers. Dobbs was a leading member of the Socialist Workers Party and secretary-treasurer of Teamster Local 574. He was jailed under the Smith Act for his revolutionary activities.
