Charles Vail was an American Universalist clergyman and Christian socialist political activist in the Social Democratic Party, and later the first National Organizer of the Socialist Party of America. Lecturing and writing widely in the early 1900s, he would soon return to the pulpit and lead an activist congregation, but largely withdrew from Socialist politics.
