Thomas would receive 884,885 votes, 2.23%, in the year that saw Roosevelt win with an overwhelming 57.5%. The Communist Party’s candidates William Z. Foster and James W. Ford won 103,307 votes, or just .26%. Thomas’ strongest state vote was in Wisconsin, at 4.79%.
America for All was Norman Thomas’ campaign newspaper for his 1932 Presidential run on the Socialist Party of America ticket. Published from August to November 1932, 14 issues were printed. Heavily illustrated, including by the legendary cartoonist Art Young, the paper is an important record of the 1932 campaign which saw the victory of Franklin Roosevelt.
