The Iowa Socialist. Vol. 1 No. 31. May 2, 1903.

The Iowa Socialist started in the fall of 1902 and published weekly until December 1904. Owned and published by the Iowa Socialist Publishing Company, founded by cartoonist A.A. Triller and Ernest Holtz. The paper is perhaps the first Socialist Party publication edited by a woman, Carrie L. Johnson. The paper is indicative of the politics of the early Socialist Party of the rural Midwest.
